From TV Dinners to Lab-Grown Cows
Food Innovation, life's purpose, and why caffeine and alcohol are here to stay.
In this week’s post, I’m sharing a great conversation I had on a new podcast, Lives of Tomorrow, hosted by Carla Buzasi, CEO of London-based trend forecasting company WGSN.
I talk to a lot of journalists and moderators at events about the future of food and naturally, they all ask some form of the question, “what will be eating in the future?” or “what’s the future of [INSERT FOOD HERE]?”
Of course, Carla asks these questions and it leads to a wonderful chat that includes the origins of Big Food and our cyclical relationship with technology in our food. But I appreciated her mixing it up quite a bit more and we touch on a wide-range of subjects professional and personal, like happiness, purpose, parallel learning, family life, and my go-to karaoke song (Hint: It’s got one of the best bass lines ever written).
Food never exists in a vacuum, so to understand it well, you need to understand the things that surround it. That’s exactly how this conversation went and I hope you’ll take the time to give it a listen and tell me what you think. Happy listening.
